Freebie- Psalm 23 Bracelets

v.jpgLast week, I found a wonderful craft that worked really well for several levels of care at my facility. I know not everyone is religious, but with many faith based facilities and spiritual residents, I wanted to share it anyway– this idea could be adapted for any song, scripture, or phrase. Using beads to correspond with different sections of the passage, we created bracelets using different kinds of beads and elastic thread. The residents loved creating something they could keep and show off, and talking about originally memorizing bible verses in childhood. Even those who have major memory deficits were easily able to recall and recite the verse. It was a fun activity for creativity, reminiscing, motor skills and dexterity, and spiritual fulfillment.Even a few days later, they were still wearing them, and saying to others, “Look what I made!”
